The Perfect Work Station.

I have spent more time on the internet than I care to admit searching for the perfect work station to store all of my supplies and keep myself organized while still having a space to get things done and be creative.

Pinterest is not always my friend here. I swoon over craft rooms and "organization stations", as I like to call them. I picture where I would put all of my things and how much more I would be able to accomplish if I had THAT room.

I just love the wrapping station built into the side! And look at all of those drawers!

I like the idea of being able to see everything in all of those shelves.

The colors are so fun in this room-- a little too country, but I like the concept.

I like the idea of a little nook, and I love the mint.

I guess a girl can dream, right? In the end, I added this puppy to my Christmas list.

I also did an IKEA run and bought this storage unit with cubbies. The high gloss finish is perfect for my workspace, no matter where it ends up or what color I decide to paint the walls.

What does your "organization station" look like?  Share your craft space in the comments!

Small Business Spotlight on MyEverydayDesign

As a recent Matron of Honor, I wanted something special for my best friend, Janelle, as she ran wedding errands and went to pre-wedding appointments. Unfortunately, I couldn't be there for that part, but I could send a little something along.

Enter MyEverydayDesign. What an awesome shop! This seller on Etsy is located in Canada. Monika was a super sweet seller who not only made my sash quickly, but she accommodated a change after I submitted my order. Despite shipping from Canada, I had my sash in just a few days. I think I was as excited as my best friend.

If you or someone you know is getting married, I would highly recommend MyEverydayDesign for a fabulous personalized sash for just the right amount of Frosting! As an added bonus, Monika is offering 20% off all purchases using the code FROSTIT.

Comment and let me know if you order!

Looking fabulous-- perfect way to relax before the big day!

About to pop champagne just in time for pedicures!

Personalized Wedding Cards are now 30% off!

Frost It All was born when I purchased a decal cutting machine, and I thought that everyone needed to throw a monogram decal onto everything. (And I still think they do!) :)  Frost It All is still here because I then started making wedding cards. I had the most difficult time finding cute cards to thank everyone who made my wedding special; our bridal party, parents, extended family, our vendors. Finally, I decided to make my own in my own wedding colors, navy and coral. Since then, I have designed many cards to be universal for many weddings, but I am always happy to swap them out to desired colors!

Here are some samples of my cards:

I can't wait to marry you. $3

Thank you for being my bridesmaid, $3

to my future Mother and Father in-law, $3

To my parents on my wedding day, $3

Will you be my bridesmaid? $3

Are you or do you know someone getting married? From now until September 30th, all wedding card purchases of 8 or more will be discounted by 30%. The cards are made to order on standard card stock and printed on a laser printer. To order, simply leave a comment here, or message me on Facebook or Etsy for a custom listing. As always, I am happy to print them in your wedding colors at no additional fee. Best wishes!

Will You Be My Bridesmaid?

Deciding who you would like to be in your wedding party is one of the first steps in planning your wedding after getting engaged. A lot of questions go through your mind. Do I want family, or am I only asking friends? Do I want friends, or am I only asking family? Do I want a large party, or will we ask everyone? Are we going to have equal numbers of bridesmaids and groomsmen? Do we want to skip a wedding party altogether? Maybe just have a Maid of Honor and a Best Man?

You could drive yourself crazy with the "what ifs".

Luckily, these are usually pretty easy decisions. Some people may already know the answers before even getting engaged. Once you have it nailed down, it's time to pop the question! What better way to ask your nearest and dearest to be in your wedding than with a heart felt card? Fall in love with these.

It's Henry's Birthday!

My dear friend, Amanda Johnson, is a local artist in Delray Beach, Florida. Amanda is a total daddy's girl at heart, and in honor of her dad's 70th birthday, she asked me to help her create invitations for a soiree that she is putting together. Using a portrait of her dad, Henry, and my know-how, we made some fabulous invites that double as a piece of art.

Amanda's work is amazing! You can see more of it on her Etsy shop or swing by her studio in Artist's Alley in Delray Beach, Florida!

A Guide to the Monogram

Monograms can be very confusing for some. The embellishment of a monogram can give you an added bit of prep, make you seem more polished, and let everyone know that you are the owner of the monogrammed object. To make it a bit more simpler, here is a friendly guide to the format of monograms.

For unmarried women: Typically, the center letter in a woman's monogram is larger than the surrounding letters. Because of this, the last name goes in the center. The first name would then go on the left, and the middle name would go on the right. For example, Mary Jane Smith would write her monogram as MSJ.

For married women: Traditionally, women take their maiden name as their middle name when they are married. If Mary Jane Smith married Bob Dole, her new name would become Mary Smith Doe, and her new monogram would be MDS.
However, some women are beginning to drop their maiden name and no longer use it. If this is the case, Mary's new monogram would be MSJ. (It is completely up to the bride if she chooses to keep her family name.)

The couples monogram: For some couples, their motto is, "It it's not moving, monogram it!" If this is you, you need to know that the woman's initial goes first, the last name goes in the center, and the husbands first initial goes at the end. Mary and Bob's couples monogram would be MDB.

Use this infographic from Jessica Marie Design if you're more visual.

I know what you're all thinking: What am I going to do with all of my monogrammed things from before I was married?! You're in luck! Etiquette says that you may still, in good taste, use any monogrammed items from before you were wed.

Any questions? Be sure to leave them in the comments, and I will be sure to answer them!

The Lined Envelope

To line or not to line? That was the question.

Always a fan of gorgeous thick high quality stationary, I love getting a beautifully designed invitation or card. When I get a card or thank you note, I always consider what kind of paper it's on or if it had a fabulous lined envelope that complemented the card itself. I wondered if it was just me who cared about these things.

I finally came to the conclusion that if liners are available, we all want them.

Many of my customers are happy with a customized card, and they would like to keep cost down as much as possible, especially when they are buying multiples. While I can understand that, there is sometimes an occasion for rich stationary, and, for many, their wedding is just that.

Coming soon to my Etsy store, my wedding themed cards will be upgraded to thicker premium card stock with a coordinating lined envelope. The new cards arrived today, and I can't wait to get the up to my site!

Wedding Season is in Full Swing

Love is in the air for Frost It All. When I started dabbling in creating greeting cards, I had no idea that brides would be so receptive! I had originally seen a card for a future spouse saying, "I can't wait to marry you", and I thought that it was something that I could create myself. (And being the control freak that I am, I knew that I would like my version more.) ;)

From there, I began making cards for just about any bridal party or family member. Brides often ask me to create custom cards for them. A recent favorite was requested for a fellow bride, Emily, who wanted "Ushering... it's where it's at." for four of the ushers in her wedding. I have loved the creativity and enthusiasm from all of my customers.

Another great reason for buying cards from Frost It All is that all colors are customizable. If you want the cards to match your wedding colors, I am happy to swap them out. I did an order for a bride this morning in light pink and gray that were gorgeous. If you don't have a preference, you end up with my wedding colors: navy and coral.

To see some of the cards that I currently offer in my shop, click here.

A special thank you to my future spouse, Joel, for all of your support and for tolerating me filling orders on the fly at 11:00 at night so that I can have super fast turnaround times. Thank you to my best friend and Maid of Honor for always helping me come up with new cards and putting some pressure on for me to actually list them. Sometimes, that's half the battle! Also, thank you to fellow bride and one of my bridesmaids, Janelle, for being my biggest cheerleader and always sharing words of encouragement for anything that I do! Finally, a huge thanks to my dad for buying me a new laser printer-- I can't wait for it to arrive tomorrow, and it was the greatest unexpected surprise! Love you all! xox
